The award aims to recognize young Emerging Leaders working in the HR functions within retail companies. These Emerging Leaders are dynamic individuals (less than 35 years of age as on 31st March 2017), who with their innovative, can-do spirit have made a huge impact in the way, HR functions in their respective organizations & are leading change in the way HR is perceived.

Criteria to Apply

For Technology in HR

  • Retail Organization.
  • RAI members & non-members both can apply.
  • The organisation should have used technology solutions in HR during April 2017 to March 2018.
  • The project should be submitted for awards under this category for the first time.


For Emerging Young Leader

  • Retail Organization.
  • RAI members & non-members both can apply.
  • Applicant should be less than 35 years of age as on 31st March 2018.
  • Should have proven to be a game changer in their organization during the period April 2017 to March 2018.

Mandatory Requirement

Technology in HR

  • One person from the Team should be designated as the Single Point of Contact (SPOC) and this person becomes the one-point contact for all communications with the Team.
  • The SPOC shall sign up on (RAI-GlobalLinker) and fill up the application form, with complete details of the organization & his/her team members (as applicable).
  • The SPOC then needs to make a submission of the team’s case, detailing out the problem/challenge statement, idea in detail, the implementation process, how the idea has impacted business process/numbers or has resulted in a process improvement; along with pre and post- data/statistics/numbers.

Emerging Young Leader

  • Application for said category should include duly signed endorsement letter from the CHRO of the organization.
  • Letter format can be downloaded from RAI-GlobalLinker

Maximum Entries

For Technology in HR

  • 1 entry per format for maximum of 2 entries per organization allowed under this category.


For Emerging Young Leader

  • 1 entry per format allowed for a maximum of 4 application from an organization.

Screening Process

  • Preliminary judges – (stalwart from other industry) to evaluate the application online.
  • 3 finalist to be shortlisted based on scoring.
  • Finalist to present on 30th August in front of Grand Jury.
  • Each finalist to get a total 7 mins which includes 5 mins presentation and 2 mins of Q&A from the Grand jury.
  • Winner announced on 30th August.

Process Deadline

  • Application link opens on 25th May.
  • Entries close on 10th July.
  • Announcement of shortlisted candidate 30th July.
